Did you know when android first came out it had no food code names?

Yes, you heard me right. They were called by their version names.

The main reason why I loved android was their amazing code names like Gingerbread, Honeycomb, KitKat, etc. Their cool names still make me feel nostalgic and hungry maybe?

If you guys feel the same way then I have made an Amazing infographic with android versions list a to z.

Before we go to the infographics allow me to tell you the ancient versions of android without any code names.

Now let’s dive right in:

1) Android 1.0

The Alpha version of android was released on September 4, 2007, and its code name was Astro Boy.

The first-ever beta version of android was released on November 5, 2007, and was code-named Bender.

Also, did you know because of this November 5 is considered as android’s birthday?

Even though this version had no official code name this version was unofficially called Apple Pie. Sounds cool to me:) (source — GeeksforGeeks)

2) Android 1.1

After android 1.0 the second version or android 1.1 was introduced to the world on 9 February 2009. It had no official code name, unofficially it was called Banana Bread (Source — GeeksforGeeks)

Android 10

Android 10 android was released on March 13, 2019. This is the 10th major version and hence it was named as android 10.

It was initially called by the code name Android Q. But if you are wondering if there are any desert code name?

Then unfortunately there is none and the system of food names has come to an end!

What’s new with android 10?

Cool new features like Dark theme, live captions, sound amplifier, privacy controls, etc were added. (Know more here Android 10 features)

Dark themes are trending nowadays and most people are adopting it as it is good for both battery and your eyes.

Android 11

Android versions list a to z: The history of android

Android 11 was released on September 8, 2020. Even though there is no official desert code name, android 11 was internally called red velvet cake by the Google employees! (pocketnow)

What’s new?

Multitasking bubbles is one feature that I love. These are those bubbles that you used to get with the Facebook messenger. Now this will work with other apps too.

Another impressive feature is a built-in screen recording and also there is a smart reply which suggests replies for the messages you receive.

So google removed using code names for officially naming android but there might be some hidden internal code names just like we saw in the android 11 case.

I would like to thank all our amazing sources for letting us make this infographic.
